Jay Preston, director of My Father’s House Community Services, received a check Thursday from the Paola High School student council and development leadership class. The student organizations earned the money — more than $2,800 — through their annual Camp Out For Cash event.

Seniors Janae Lentz, Amilee Gross and Michael Tetwiler, who have been involved with Camp Out For Cash since its inception, presented the check to Preston. Preston said his organization has received more than $10,000 from Camp Out For Cash during the event’s four years.
