Couple To Marry In Lawrence & Japan

Akiko Imakawa and Sennett Rockers

Kazuhiko and Atsuko Imakawa of Overland Park announce the engagement of their daughter, Akiko Imakawa, to Sennett Rockers of Seguin, Texas.

He is the son of Michael and Nancy Rockers of Greeley. The bride-elect is the granddaughter of the late Sanae and Takako Watanabe and Shigeru and the late Hisako Imakawa, all of Tajiri, Japan.

Her fiance is the grandson of Charles and Jean Gray of Round Hill, Va., and the late Alfred and Lorene Rockers of Greeley. Miss Imakawa is a 1999 graduate of Blue Valley Northwest High School. She graduated in 2003 from the University of Kansas with a Bachelor of Music in Voice and in 2006 with a degree of Master of Music in Voice in 2006. The bridegroom-elect is a 1998 graduate of Anderson County High School. He graduated in 2003 from the University of Kansas with degrees of Bachelor of Science in Journalism and Bachelor of Arts in Political Science.

The couple will exchange vows June 28 in the Trinity Lutheran Church in Lawrence. They plan to repeat their vows Aug. 9 in Tajiri, Miyagi Prefecture, Japan.
