Tennis Notebook: Bulldogs third in Small Six

In their last chance to gain a quality conference victory this season, the Bulldogs came up empty.
The Kearney High boys tennis team dropped a 7-2 decision to Excelsior Springs in the regular-season finale Tuesday, May 6, in Kearney.
Top singles player Paul Nurse blanked Thilo Mehlin, 8-0. Cody Jameson accounted for the Bulldogs’ other victory, winning the No. 6 singles match.
Kearney finished third in the Suburban Small Six Conference standings with a 4-4 league record. This marks the second straight season the Bulldogs have suffered four conference losses to Lee’s Summit West and Excelsior Springs.
