Betty J. Bauer
1933-2008
Betty J. Bauer, 75, Louisburg, died Saturday, May 10, 2008, at St. Luke’s Medical Center after a long illness.
She was born in Bloomfield, Neb., April 3, 1933, to Duncan and Anna Clausen McShannon.
She occasionally worked outside the home but was mostly dedicated to making a home and caring for her husband and raising her six children. One of her greatest joys was her grandchildren.
She was a member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Altar Society and the American Legion Auxiliary.
Preceding her in death are four brothers and one sister.
She is survived by her husband of 58 years, John R. Bauer; two daughters, Marie Franklin of Louisburg and Margaret Keith of Joplin, Mo.; four sons, John Bauer, Bob Bauer and Jim Bauer, all of Louisburg, and Chuck Bauer of Pleasanton; two sisters, Evelyn Sharpe of Louisburg and Jeanette Cappelano of Omaha, Neb.; 12 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. today at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. Burial will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Louisburg. To send a special message to the family, visit www.penwellgabel.com.
In lieu of flowers the family requests memorials be given to the Ursuline Sisters of Paola in care of Penwell-Gabel Funeral Home, 120 S. Broadway St., Louisburg KS 66053.
