Paola United Way plans to finalize beneficiaries


Paola United Way officials are preparing to finalize the list of organizations that will benefit from the charity group during the coming campaign.

Julie Lewis-Bell of State Farm Insurance in Paola said application packets soon will be mailed out to the 16 organizations Paola United Way has supported in the past and any other group that wishes to join the list.

Any organization interested in receiving a packet can contact Roberta Lewis at the Paola USD 368 Central Services building at 294-8000.

The 16 local organizations that previously have benefited from the campaign are Meals on Wheels, Senior Citizens, Foster Grandparents, Miami County chapter of the American Red Cross, Girl Scouts, Boy Scouts, Paola Association for Church Action, Salvation Army, Miami County chapter of the American Diabetes Association, Youth Protection (Morning Out for Mothers), Lakemary Center, Elizabeth Layton Mental Health Center (formerly Sunflower Centers), Wheels of Mercy, Big Brothers Big Sisters of Miami County, My Father’s House and Children’s Mercy Hospital.
