Hillary prepares to make her last stand while vying for power

Some pundits are saying the reason Hillary Clinton refuses to drop out of the race is that she wants to bloody Barack Obama enough for McCain to win. Then she will have another shot at the nomination in 2012 when McCain is 76 years old. If Obama wins in 2008, he may delay her chances for eight years, when she herself may be too old.
Part of me wants her to connive a way to win the nomination, making Obama supporters think she stole it, resulting in her losing the election. Then we would all be done with her forever. However, if she runs for the nomination again in four years, those four years give more distance from any of us remembering who she really is.
I, however, will never forget who she really is — a self-serving power monger with no real core value other than doing whatever it takes to get elected.
This singular drive prompts her to lie without impunity about dodging gun fire in Bosnia when there was none. It prompts her to rewrite history claiming she was always against NAFTA when, in fact, she helped Dick Morris plot to get NAFTA ratified.
But the most horrifying consequence of her need for power is her willingness to play footsy with terrorists. The outcry about Obama having questionable alliances pales by comparison to hers.
In the ’80s, she served on the board of the New World Foundation which gave money to the PLO, headed by the terrorist, Yasser Arafat. As first lady, her “innocent” tea parties were for the likes of organizations called the American Muslim Alliance and the Council on American Islam Relations — both of which gave money to the terrorist organization Hamas and whose leaders supported jihad against Israel.
When she ran for New York Senator, she accepted $50,000 from the same American Muslim Alliance. When the media uncovered the donation, she returned it, pretending she hadn’t known from whom it had been. Fortunately, hiding the donation as from the “American Museum Alliance” hadn’t worked.
Political gyrations aside, I hate to imagine the abusive, self-serving spending when they get their hands on our pocketbook again. As a native Nebraskan, I am still steamed about Bill taking a tax-paid trip to Omaha in the last month of his presidency because he had never been to Nebraska. If the state didn’t merit a trip in eight years, then it could have waited for his trip on his own dime.
I am also still steamed about Hillary’s use of our tax money to take her daughter on an expensive tour, complete with an entourage, to places like African countries she had not yet seen. Not to mention her making repeated flights with her staff to New York on taxpayers’ money when she first started her Senatorial campaign.
Hillary’s (seldom) unguarded moments have shown us her loyalty to her own cause over ours. One of her last interviews as first lady quoted her as saying she had loved living in the White House. “I have learned so much” … as if living there had been about her personal growth rather than serving us.
I realize that Hillary’s desperation for power may even prompt her to accept a vice-presidential nomination from Obama. With Obama the only impediment between her and the top position, she could then bring impeachment charges against Obama through her surrogates, and ascend to her throne that way. I’m sure her “experience” has taught her what is needed to get an impeachment charge to stick.
If only the Clintons could find a country with no people to feed their need to rule — like one in Antarctica.

The West Virginia resounding defeat of Obama was an expression of PEOPLE POWER that proclaimed Sen. Clinton is the Democratic presidential nominee. The PEOPLE POWER of Sen Clinton's victory trounced the pro-Obama biased media. Superdelegates who are endorsing Obama daily in an end run around the Democratic nomination process to swipe the nomination for Obama should ponder seriously the PEOPLE POWER that buttresses Sen. Clinton. Edwards. Obama and his superdelegates are taking the Democratic Party down the path of a train wreck in November. "
