Bikers get ready to ride for a cause Saturday
By Brian McCauley, bmccauley@miconews.com
The hum of a group of motorcycle riders will be heard in Miami County on Saturday for the fourth-annual Big Brothers Big Sisters benefit poker run.
Registration for that event is set to begin at 10 a.m. at Rounders in Paola, and the motorcycles are scheduled to roll out at 11 a.m. There is a registration fee of $20 per bike, which includes a T-shirt, and $10 per passenger. Additional T-shirts will be available for $7.
There will be five stops on the run, and riders will get a card at each one. There will be prizes for the best, second-best and lowest hand. Raffle tickets also will be available for purchase. Additional poker hands will be available for $5.
The stops on the ride include Rounders, Timbercreek in Louisburg, Outpost in La Cygne, Lane Bar in Lane and Shipwreck Tavern in Osawatomie.
