State trapshoot set for June 7
A special trapshooting event for youths will be held June 7 at the Kansas Trapshooters Association state trapshooting championships. The event will be held north of Wichita in Sedgwick at 432 E. 117th St. N.
It is sponsored by the Amateur Trapshooting Hall of Fame and the Scholastic Clay Trap Program, designed to encourage youngsters to get involved in the shooting sports.
Kansas Trap Association Hall of Fame team trophies will be offered for trapshooters in college, high school (grades 10 through 12) and junior high (grade 9 and younger). Novice trophies (for shooters with fewer than 1,000 lifetime registered 16-yard targets) will be awarded for first-, second and third-place finishers, as well as for young ladies in junior high and high school groups.
Scholastic Clay Trap Program Team Trophies will be offered for the three school grade groups, as well. All information is available online at www.nssf.org/sctp.
