Volunteers sought for bicycle ride
Local volunteers are needed for an event sure to delight bicycle enthusiasts from around the area.
The Johnson County Bicycle Club will be holding its third-annual Cider Mill Century bike ride Aug. 3. Louisburg Cider Mill will serve as the starting and ending location, and the event’s mass start is scheduled for 7 a.m., with registration starting at 6 a.m.
The ride will feature 25-, 50-, 75- and 100-mile loops through Miami and Linn counties. Ride stops will be located in Hillsdale, Paola, Osawatomie, Fontana, La Cygne, Linn Valley Lakes and at Trinity Lutheran School. Osawatomie’s stop will be located in John Brown Memorial Park.
Race organizers are looking for local volunteers to serve bikers refreshments at the stations. To volunteer, contact Jan Hudziki at (913) 432-0677 or janhudekc@sbcglobal.net.
