Property tax deadline nears
Pay taxes, fees by July 31 to avoid name in paper
The deadline to keep your name out of the paper for delinquent property taxes is approaching.
Taxes and late payment interest fees must be received and processed at the county treasurer’s office by 4:30 p.m. July 31 to avoid publication in The Miami County Republic, Osawatomie Graphic and Louisburg Herald, said Gayla Shields, county treasurer.
Late payment fees accrue daily.
Shields recommended calling or stopping by the office before paying to get the exact amount that needs to be paid. The treasurer’s office can be reached at 294-2353.
To pay in person, stop by the office on the first floor of the County Administration Building, 201 S. Pearl St., Paola. The office is open from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. weekdays. There also is a drop box in the parking lot south of the building.
