KU football coach to visit Prairie Village

Coach Mangino greets area rooters


 


The University of Kansas Athletics, KU Alumni Association and Corinth Merchants Association host the third annual KC Football Kickoff with Coach Mark Mangino from 6:30 to 10 p.m. Friday in the Corinth Square parking lot, 83rd and Mission Road in Prairie Village.


The event is free and includes the KU Pep Band and Spirit Squad as well as Big Jay and Baby Jay. There will be an inflatable fun zone for kids and merchant giveaways. The local band Recess will perform.

Chiefs kick off with luncheon


 


The annual Chiefs Kickoff Luncheon takes place at noon on Tuesday, Aug. 26 at the Hyatt Regency Crown Center.


Longtime team announcers Bill Grigsby and Mitch Holthus will emcee the event, which features the Pack Band and Chiefs Cheerleaders in attendance.


Chiefs President Carl Peterson and head coach Herm Edwards will introduce the 2008 Chiefs. Players and coaches will be seated with fans in the audience.


Individual tickets are available, as are tables that seat 11, with a Chiefs player or coach filling the 11th seat if preferred.
