Kearney watches water rates
Water rates for Kansas City are increasing 12 percent.
“They are continuing planned increases,” Kearney City Administrator Jim Eldridge told the Kearney Board of Aldermen at its meeting Monday, Feb. 20.
Kansas City had previously announced it intended to increase rates at least 10 percent over the next four years.
For now, the city of Kearney doesn’t need to worry about this, but keep a watchful eye on it, Eldridge said.
Eldridge said 5 to 10 percent of Kearney’s water usage is from Kansas City.
