Oscar Eugene “Jack” Cavinee, rural Fontana, died Dec. 6, 2007. A celebration of his life of will be held at 10:30 a.m. May 22 at the Beagle United Methodist Church. Graveside services will be in the Cadmus Cemetery. Lunch will then be served at the Beagle United Methodist Church. Memorials are to the church.

Armand T. Fisher, 85, Lawrence, a 1940 graduate of Rantoul High School, died Saturday, May 10, 2008, in Lawrence. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army Air Corps and served in the South Pacific during World War II. He retired in 1979 as a diesel mechanic for the Lawrence Paper Co. Survivors include his wife, Wilma Fisher of the home. Services were Tuesday in Roselawn Memorial Gardens south of Ottawa.

Elizabeth Whitaker Hall, 90, Kansas City, Mo., died Wednesday, May 7, 2008. A native of Bucyrus, she graduated from Lane High School and Ottawa University. She taught Green Valley School of rural Osawatomie and Baker School in Franklin County before graduating from college. She later taught in high schools in Cedar, Wellsville and Ellis, all in Kansas. Her husband, Dr. James R. Hall, preceded her in death. Survivors include two children. Services were Saturday in Westminster Hall of Kingswood Senior Living Community, Kansas City, Mo. Burial was in Highland Cemetery in Ottawa.

Maurine Mullenix, Illinois, died Feb. 6, 2008. Memorial services will be held at 12:30 p.m. Sunday in the First Baptist Church, 801 Brown Ave. in Osawatomie. Mrs. Mullinix, a former Osawatomie resident, was the aunt of Ted Jones and Joyce Bean, both of Osawatomie.
